Another day, another adventure. Already the 6th game in a row, Falcom tell us the story of the red adventurer Adol Christina. But not every series can live to a full-fledged 6th part. Fortunately, the advent of Adol not only survived to the 6th part, but also do not think to end. But let’s not run ahead and stop today on the islands of Canaan, where Adol found a new story for his diaries. Welcome YS VI: The Ark of Napishtim.
The new story does not begin in the best way. Once in a small trouble in the port city, Adol, with their friend, doe, use the help of pirates, whom they also met in one of the past adventures, and run away from the city. However, they are catching up near the infamous “Kanan’s whirlpool”, where there were many ships. During the battle, adolus falls from the ship and is inside this whirlpool. Once on the nearest island, the Adola, barely alive, 2 girls of an incomprehensible race that lead the Adola to the village, page wounds and give a rest. But everything turned out to be not so rosy, t.To. Almost everyone in the village does not like people and their attitude to Adol is not the most pleasant. It turns out that all survivors in shipwrecks founded the city on the neighboring island, and in order to make life easier, they plundered and dragged out many shrines of local residents, Reda (REHDA), which is why the relationship between them was very heated. Having walked around the district a little, Adol saves one of the girls who found it after the crash, and helps to kill a strong monster, after which the locals begin to treat him much better, given that the girl is one of the heirs of the local goddess Alma. The headman thanks Adol, talks about some problems that have occurred in recent weeks, and indicates the way to the city of people. From this moment, a new adventure begins.
Local priestess, and part -time savior Adol, alder. And as soon as the adol finds such.
The story in the sixth part of the series turned out to be quite pleasant, but it has several unpleasant moments. Firstly-the same tie in the port city is not shown directly. We start immediately on the beach, after the sea battle, and all events to the island are told literally a couple of lines. In the version for PS2 with this is a little better, there at least it is shown by a cgi video. In the PC version, this video was replaced by alert, but absolutely non -informative ophening.
The villains in general in the series are not very good. There is not enough some charismatic antagonist who would really be remembered and this case is no exception. The main villain appears only 2 times per game and flares up to the second. In such a short time, it will not be possible to get used to the thought that this was the main opponent of Adol.
Thirdly-the very development of the plot. The story begins far from fast, plus there is a certain amount of backing, not fatal, but still.
But if you close your eyes at least for some of the problems, but in general, the story turned out to be classical for a series, not very intrusive, strong enough to captivate and at the same time not so much in order not to understand what is happening at all.
This time only swords are lended, which is somewhat facilitating the choice,
What to pump first.
In terms of gameplay, no revelations have to wait. If you played in The Oath in Felghana or Origins, then you will feel at home at home, the main thing is to keep in mind that The Ark of Napishtim has come out earlier than the games mentioned above, so that some elements may not be implemented so well. For those who have not played in the past games in the past games in more detail. The combat system consists of several elements: a series of simple strokes, stunning in jumping and skills. Skills are strictly attached to each sword, of which 3 on the whole game and look more like special tricks. True, in order to apply skills, you must first accumulate a charge by inflicting damage to other opponents. However, each sword differs not only in the skill, but also. One beats not fast, but more painful than others, the second hits like a rapier, quickly, but slightly weaker, and the third balanced. There are also several types of opponents, each is vulnerable either to a certain type of damage, or a certain technique, or even invulnerable without certain items that must be found during the game.
Each sword has its own XL casino sister sites element, and their skills must be used quite often.
In general, despite some obsolescence, the combat system does not cause negative emotions. Management is shaken to the limit, it’s nice to fight, the battles themselves are dynamic and in places quite difficult. There are practically no third -party tasks this time, or rather there are only two of them. One will be at the very end, and the second stretches throughout the game. Instead of additional tasks, there is a kind of exchange of objects. Finding some object on some location, a certain character may ask you, offering something useful in return. Of course, this is not called full -fledged secondary tasks, but it is extremely desirable to get such items so that further passage is more convenient.
Of course, without bosses, it could not. You can’t call them very difficult, but you can’t take them
Outwardly, the game looks nice enough, although some locations turned out either too open, which is why the study is suffering, or too the same, for example, caves in which there will be broken legs without a map (of course there is no area of the area). Otherwise, there are no complaints, and for its time the game looked quite acceptable. In terms of technical implementation, everything is also great. No sorties, sagging and other things, widescreen resolutions are perfectly supported. Once, another character can certainly get stuck in the texture, but in the game there are quite closely located fast -seal/conservation points, so there is no strong discomfort, from this.
Music also does not fail.
Ys vi: The Ark of Napishtim turned out to be a rather pleasant game and a decent part of the series. The plot, in spite of some unpleasant moments, turned out to be strong and still gives a feeling of adventure, the gameplay is quite dynamic and does not force the pharmacies to pass some point, and a pleasant picture and excellent music fix the positive aspects of the game. This is of course not the best game in the series, but definitely worthy of attention. However, the most interesting thing will start in the next chapter of Adol’s adventures, but more on this another time.

I played the PC version. There is also PSP and PS2 version. PSP, judging by the reviews of the playing, it is better not to touch. PC and PS2 versions as a whole are identical. In PS2, perhaps there are English and Japanese voice acting, cgi insert-profiles and a pair of levels not related to the plot. In general, after passing the PC version, there was no feeling that something was short-lived or that something was cut out. So the PC version is recommended boldly, at the sales of the Falcom game, they often flash, and the gift also goes 1.5 GB (!) additional materials in the form of art, wallpaper and sketches.
You’re welcome 🙂
Plus the YS series is that you can start with any part, they are quite self -sufficient. Yes, there are times when the characters communicate, as if not the first time have met, but knowing the events of past parts is not necessary.
Yes, Xseed and Falcom somehow massively begin to port your games on PC, which cannot but rejoice. But t.To. My YS Seven has already been bought at Vita, I will take the version a little later, just to support. And the review will be soon 🙂
Yes, in principle, a bunch of Japanese now appears on a PC, although not all. There, Senran kagura beach peach splash (well, or Splatoon with boobs) on the PC never looked, although it would seem. Yes, the Title is not serious, but less “niche”, especially in its fiction.
It is only a pity that so far small companies are trained in the ports, well, or not quite small, but aimed mainly at the fan service. In fact, the ports of Ni No Kuni 2 and FFXV, so far the only really serious over the past couple.
In the requirements that the FFXV imposes on the computer, I feel large sales. I don’t know with Ni No Kuni, although the first part was quite solid, although I didn’t go as much as I would like. Senran kagura will most likely look a little later, t.To. The games of the series did not immediately reach the PC. Yes, they did not immediately walk outside Nintendo, the remake of the first part, there are only now doing. Well, niche projects are much easier to beat off, as for me.
Well, with ffxv I still have hopes that the requirements presented were mostly for 4/8k and this all the garbage, but if not … There is still a year to appeal to the PC, at least this I am now doing.
In terms of Kagur, here is debatable. As for me, the players have already shown that they are of interest to them, but there are not even leaders from them, which is sad.
Niche is easier to recapture – this is obvious. It’s just too much, and you still want to see something decent, even if it goes in some points. I love Japanese games and got used to their common cheapness, but this does not mean that I have no desire to see a product at least more or less close to AAA.
Well, it is clear that AAA I also want to feel the game, you won’t be fed up with niche games, which works in the opposite direction in the opposite. The fact that there are no special leaders towards PC from developers and publishers, well, here hell knows, maybe there is simply no time and effort at all at once.
But to be honest about FFXV, I would not advise you to upgrade the computer so zealously. The game is certainly wildly beautiful, for the most part from the design point of view, but otherwise it does not leave any pleasant impression. I somehow cooled down the finals and I do not consider them so masterpieces, but I passed the same FFX about a year ago with great pleasure, and at the end there was an extremely pleasant sediment. After passing the FFXV, the question "and what and all?". There is something to do in the game, what to see, where to get stuck, but after passing you just clean the disk on the shelf and that’s it. There is no feeling that a really cool adventure has ended. The game is good, but no more, and even more so does not deserve an obligatory upgrade. Moreover, this.
I upgrade OFK. not only for FF, it is simply one of the reasons.
I know that 15 has a sufficient number of problems, but in principle, I am not a fan of the series, and not one of the parts did not pass it, and XV still interested me, be that as it may be. I can quite not get from her the pleasure that I received when passing Persona 4 and 5, for example, but I do not strive for this. I just want a pleasant expirence and not more. Not in the Atelier series to tremble, right?
Well, if you play FFXV with this approach, then there are no problems at all. The game is still not terrible, just far from the best. It’s like some medium niche jrpg give a top engine and experienced directors.
But Atelier, by the way, is funny. I tried only one part, but this is actually such a good and buzz that I was not right. Until by stupidity, I did not sell all his ingredients and merged all his passage ..
Atelier is a good thing, but he’s too much time. There, the grind is a kor-gimpley, which is like such a pleasure.
Yes, here is indisputable. But at least it is placed very well, and the plot is so unobtrusive and light that you are resting directly. Usually they don’t even explain the grind, just go and Grinda, but here at least some justification.
There is this, but still too much for an amateur. Although I did not go through these games for other reasons: in Sophie I will not finish the condition for continuing the plot, and in Firis I will not return because of other games. Such things.
